I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of July and rather enjoyed my stay. The kitchen, bathrooms and showers are very good - and because there's only a handful of people staying, the facilities are never busy.
If you are staying in a share dorm like I did, one of them is fantastic (very spread out across multiple levels, lots of personal space) where as the other is simply a small room packed with beds. The larger, nicer dorm has windows onto the street, which was important given it was so hot. The smaller dorm was like an oven- and their windows only open onto the hallway, so there is no real privacy and the room looks like it gets VERY hot.
I would definitely specifically ask to be in the bigger / multi level dorm when you book, as the other one just looks awful.
There are nice bars and cafes dotted all around the neighborhood, and a short 10 minute walk brings you into the heart of Budapest central.
We had the private room and the beds were super comfortable. The window looked over the square. The kitchen was great and open- we ate there often. The highlight was the balconies overlooking the courtyard. It was fairly quite too inside the hostel because it was several floors up. The location was perfect walking distance for lots of attractions. I really loved the art and the feel of the entire hostel!
I had an awesome time staying here. Although there's really no common area, I still found it pretty easy to get to know people. The hostel itself is pretty central and pubs are readily accessible seeing as there's one right downstairs. The bathrooms and showers could have been cleaner but if you are booking this hostel, you should probably expect that a hostel built on repurposed stuff isn't going to be the W. Overall I had a great time. No AC but heat wasn't an issue for me.
One of the best place I have ever stayed, a lot of tourists, so you can make a lot of friends. The location is just so cool. It's easy to get to the center, a lot of restaurants nearby. You will surely enjoy the time here. But the hostel design is pretty old, i felt I was in my grandmother's home. But everything worked properly so it was nice
Dorm room is excellent. No bunk bed. Everyone gets a little privacy and the space they created are really interesting.
Location is good as well. About 10 minutes walked via National museum to the touristy center (where everything from ice cream to beer to food are double the price).
Lots small bars and eateries, cafe shops around the neighborhood with decent, local price.
The bar downstairs can be noisy but you will only hear from the kitchen/common area but not from the room. I stayed in the 7 beds dorm and had 2 great night sleep.
Very happy with my stay and will recommend the hostel. Also helpful staff and very chilled out vibe. Great choice for Budapest city explore.
Great hostel on a cute safe street in Budapest. The cafes, restaurants, and bars right out front and in the courtyard add a really great vibe, but it is still not a party hostel. The hostel feels like a tree house in a city. Really cool art. Wish there was more common area, the only real place to hang out is the smaller kitchen.
Had a great stay here. Everyone (staff and travellers) were really friendly and the hostel looked amazing. Security was a bit laid back... I left my bag at reception on my last day when I went to pick it up no one was on reception and there were loads of bags laying around. Only a minor thing at the end of the stay! Otherwise I would definitely stay here again.
Great value, got a double room for the same price as two dorm beds. Good location, close to public transport and the main tourist area, but off the main road and in a great little courtyard area. Only down side is our room was next to the bar area so it was quite loud at night but our other friends who stayed had a much quieter room, so if you are a light sleeper maybe you can request that. Friendly staff, cute place. Would definitely recommend!
Found this place in booking.com with the highest review, I was not disappointed!
It's located in the middle of the city centre, walking distance to the market, chain bridge and most of the tourists spots. There the metro station just walking distance outside for people who are going further.
I love quaint, quirky little hostels like this. They have the best kitchen with full spice rack! My boyfriend and I took one of the private rooms that could fit 4 pax, price is reasonable for europe.
Not a noise-friendly place, the walls are thin! You can literally hear footsteps around the house. Cleanliness is very subjective, it's not perfect but bearable.
The reception is mostly empty throughout the day, so if you have a morning ride to catch, be sure to let them know sooner!
They have really unique design for the beds and rooms, its a hipster heaven.
Liked: The Hostel had a lovely, unique atmosphere to it. It was easy to find and located at a very nice little square, not far away from lots of bars and places to go. We discovered all of Budapest by foot only and it was very much possible to start at the Hostel. I loved the vintage design, the beds were comfortable, the kitches was great and the facilities where very clean. Would definitely recommend to others and come back personally.
Disliked: There are few things that could be better: Better security, better availability of Staff. Apart from that, all good.
